Girls' Teams Dominate Competition

MPCS girls' fall sports have been dominating the competition. Both middle school volleyball teams placed 2nd in the Metro 10 after nearly undefeated seasons. JV volleyball finished their season 21-6 in Area play and placed third out of 20 teams in the multi-state Rally High tournament. The varsity girls volleyball team is currently ranked #1 in the GHSA, AJC, and MaxPreps rankings. After winning back-to-back Area championships, the Lady Eagles are now in the Elite 8 of the State playoffs. Their next match will take place at Holy Innocents this Saturday, tentatively 1:00 p.m. start.

In softball, the middle school Lady Eagles was once again undefeated in Region play for the season. They beat Mt. Pisgah in the Metro 10 Championship and now hold back-to-back championship titles. The varsity girls softball team ended their regular season 18-5 and placed third in the Region competing in GHSA A public and private divisions. For the first time in MPC program history, the Lady Eagles have made it to the Elite 8 State Championship tournament. The girls travel to Columbus for their game against Wesleyan today.

MPC cheerleaders have also begun their competition season with success. Middle school was runner-up in their performance against all Cobb county public schools, and JV has earned first and second place finishes. Varsity cheer is currently undefeated and competes at Woodstock High School this weekend.
