KIPP Collegiate

The MPC Football Team began region play versus KIPP Atlanta Collegiate Friday night with a dominant 41-0 victory. After a scoreless first quarter the Eagles opened up the scoring with a rushing TD by QB Ryan Strickland. Ryan also accounted for another TD with a touchdown throw to Senior Tight End Lincoln Broadnax. Senior Tailback Nick Germain continued his dominant season adding 4 TDs and 159 yards to the offense.

 The Defense was led statistically by Junior linebacker Carson Harmon (7 total tackles, 2 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble) and Junior Nose guard Wyatt Smith (3 tackles for loss & 4 QB pressures).

 Sean Westmoreland & Hank Stevens each padded the stats with an interception.

B.E.S.T. Academy

The MPC Eagles Varsity Football Team picked up another region 6-AA win Thursday evening defeating B.E.S.T Academy 38-8 at Henderson Stadium in Atlanta. The Eagles were led by a staunch defensive performance that had several players reach double digit tackles. Senior Safety Jackson Stephens & Junior Corner Micah Mumford both recorded interceptions at key points during the game. Senior defensive end Lincoln Broadnax led the team with 5 total tackles, a tackle for loss, a quarterback pressure, and a pass broken up. Offensively Senior running back Nick Germain continued his dominant season amassing 186 yards rushing on 16 carries with 4 touchdowns.  We would like to thank the phenomenal MPC Eagles Cheerleaders for coming to support as well as the parents and fans who made the drive.

The MPC Eagles Varsity Football team earned a big win last Saturday night at Lakewood Stadium against the Therrell Panthers. Offensively the Eagles were led by Senior running back Nick Germain who rushed for 145 yards on 16 carries with a touchdown returning from an injury. Senior Andrew Martin & Junior Micah Mumford added touchdowns as well. Junior quarterback Ryan Strickland was responsible for 2 touch downs and completed 9 passes to 4 different receivers on the night & the offensive line of Seniors Matt & Chris Kalichak, Carson Lake, Alec Ross, & Junior Taylor Stephens opened holes in the run game and gave Strickland a clean pocket to throw from.

Defensively the Eagles were led by Junior Linebacker Carson Harmon who had 9 total tackles, 2 sacks, 2 QB pressures, & a pass broken up. Multiple players recorded sacks & tackles for loss. Senior Gray Collins blocked a punt in the end zone that was recovered by Senior Jackson Stephens for a defensive touch down.

Saturday’s win guaranteed the Eagles a spot in the state playoffs.

Defensively the Eagles were led by Juniors Micah Mumford & Hank Stevens who each had clutch interceptions. Andrew Martin, Wyatt Smith, Eason Mahon, Jackson Stephens, Carson Harmon, & Gray Collins all had double-digit tackles and multiple tackles-for-loss.

Offensively Junior quarterback Ryan Strickland found freshman wide receiver Kobe Lewis multiple times on the game-winning drive that culminated in Strickland hitting Senior tight end Lincoln Broadnax for the go-ahead score to clinch the victory.

Senior running back Nick Germain added 75 yards rushing to put him over 1,000 yards rushing for the season.

MS A girls #MPCBasketball team beat Fellowship Tues 36-24. P. Tamborra provided a huge spark on the defensive end with 3 steals and a team high 8 rebounds while scoring 5 points. L.Kimball played aggressive lock down defense with 4 steals, 4 rebounds & 2 points. Great job, girls!
