The scoring was kicked off when Andrew Akopov bruised his way to
two early rushing touchdowns, leaving Mt. Pisgah’s defenders in his wake.
QB Austin Tamborra threw an 86-yard TD pass to Alejandro Torres, and then
followed up with a 55-yard QB keep that led to another Eagle Touchdown.
“Cadillac” Eli Hewatt cruised in the endzone with a 75-yard punt return for a
TD, and nimble Elijah Lott ran through the Patriot Defense for a 39-yard TD
run.
However, the tone of the game was set by the attacking Eagle
Defense, whose constant pressure of the Patriot QB resulted in sacks by Austin
Tamborra, Carter Levstek, Cooper Thompson, Kaleb Trowell, Christian Holmes, and
Easton George. Brayden Varnes commanded the defensive unit from his
middle Linebacker position and led the team in tackles. Alejandro Torres
game ending interception capped an impressive Eagle victory.

Mt. Paran received the opening kickoff and stayed on offense the entire first quarter driving down to the one yard line. Austin Tamborra punched in a one yard run putting Mt. Paran’s first touchdown on the board. Before halftime the Eagles offensive line moved the ball to the 50 when Austin Tamborra then broke through a scrum of Patriots for another touchdown. Andrew “Automatic” Fitzpatrick kicked in his second extra point of the game. The defense allowed Strong Rock only one first down in the game.
